I’ve sat here for what feels like a million hours trying to figure out what I wanted to write that would do my experience justice. Sadly, I don’t think any words could give the experience of witnessing the arrival of new life justice.
Birth is awe inspiring to witness; it is truly a miracle…a privilege to be a part of; to watch a new soul being born is like nothing I can explain with words.
This past Sunday my little niece Scarlett Dian entered this world, lungs a blazing into the arms of her loving parents. She breathed her first breath, cried her first cry and looked with uncertain eyes into a world I can only hope will treat her with kindness, love and understanding.
Sunday, 5th September 2010 is a day that will live on in my heart for ever.
