Day 3 {Brisbane Children’s Photographer}

This photo a day challenge, is where I embark on the epic, personal journey to take one photograph every day for the month of January, of the things that are important to me.

I can hardly believe that Byron is heading into his 4th year of school – grade 3. That means, come June this year, he’ll officially be half way through his primary school education. Before I know it he’ll be waving good bye and heading out the door to High School. Ok, so that might be a bit dramatic. Thing is, the years just seem to be rolling into each other these days. What started out as Grade 1 has somehow turned into grade 3 and, well, it’s going to take some adjustment.

We ventured back to school today to buy up all his school supplies ready for the first day back. Last year I left the ‘book list’ a little too late and was begging the suppliers to have it all ready for me by the time school started. I’m sure I’m not the only mum who does stuff like this, but sometimes, it feels like I fail in this department, thereby failing as the ‘goodly’ mum. I’m not as organised as I should be, so this year I tried hard and when I first looked at this year’s book list it looked liked I’d failed again. See, it was due to be submitted for ordering by 24 December. Of course I didn’t look at it until today. Lucky for me though, for this week only I could head up to the school and pack the book list myself. So with Byron in tow (and Willow too) that’s where we went.

Byron was super excited to know that his book list, along with year 6, was the biggest (and most expensive) of all book lists. Me. I wasn’t so pleased. $170 later and we were done. On a positive…how organised do I feel!?

Karen Pfeiffer - P.S. How on earth is he this big? He was so small when we first met!
