Albert Einstein once said “rejoice with your family in the beautiful land of life!“. I thought it so fitting for this beautiful family I met a few weeks back. They rejoiced in little Tommi. It was obvious for all to see. No doubt there will be some more rejoicing in a few months time when they welcome the newest little addition to their family. I certainly had the loveliest of afternoons, spending it with them.

Two beautiful boys and another baking away inside; a baby boy so eagerly wanted and already loved. His brothers are excited at the thought of his impending arrival but his parents are anxious; not anxious about his arrival but his journey to make it there. See little one is taking the long and difficult road to arrival. He’s a sick little monkey fighting a hard fight for survival. It’s one step forward and another step backwards as he fights Parvovirus. They tell me he is a fighter, and I can see he is. In the three weeks since our session he’s grown bigger and stronger and he wants to stick around – who wouldn’t want to take heed of the opportunity to join such a loving, joyful family. He has the fire to fight and with his parent’s will and his brothers’ love, I can only believe his fire will keep burning until the end when his beautiful parents get to hold him in their arms; a healthy little baby.

Some women just wear pregnancy so well. It’s as though they are born to be pregnant. I know it’s cliche but I still think it’s true – they glow; radiate even. I can remember, throughout the grips of my Hyperemesis Gravidarum that I so desperately wanted to be one of those women. I searched for the ‘glow’ but alas I don’t believe I found it whilst growing any of my three beauties.

I’m OK with never finding that elusive beauty for myself, because I get to experience the next best thing – the radiant, glow I see in all the expectant mothers I have the pleasure of meeting. There is nothing more beautiful then watching a mother to be who has all but a few weeks to wait until she meets her beautiful baby. A father and a soon to be sister, waiting to meet the new addition to their family, is as close as it gets.

Waiting for your little one to arrive feels like forever. FOR. EVER. Nine long months, but there is no argument the prize at the end is so, so worth it!

I’m looking forward to meeting the little poppet pie baking away in side his mumma’s belly! Naturally, there’s no doubt his mumma is looking forward to it a million more times than I.

Day 6 {Brisbane Maternity Photographer}

I’m beyond excited about the arrival of my impending niece. It’s funny, I have been known to lay in bed at night and wonder what she might look like! Since her daddy is Greek I figure she’ll have lots of dark hair (I’m hoping anyway, since newborns with lots of hair are so much fun to photograph), a button nose and beautiful blue eyes (my sister’s of course). You know, I actually think I’ve seen her in my dreams…a dark curly haired little girl running along side Willow. Sigh. As I sit here and type, this makes me smile

How nice it will be for Willow to have a little cousin all for herself….I think she’s excited!

I’m 37 weeks. The suspense is killing me to find out what is baking away inside. A boy? A girl? I guess we shall find out all in good time…

‘Alice’ in Wonderland {Brisbane Family Photographer}

This shoot was just magical (even with me at 36 weeks). It was just amazing. Little Amelie was like Alice in wonderland. She was just beautiful both inside and out. She was magical as was the back yard I got to photograph in. It was a dream.

Mum was just 5 days ahead of me so it was lovely to have like minded chats about our up and coming births.

I truly loved this session! It really was difficult to cull my sneak peak down. There were so many amazing images! Here are just a snippet.
