The Winners {Brisbane Family Photographer}

Some of you may recall the competition I ran last year to win a Complete Portraiture Experience. Well, if you do, you might recall that it was won by Shella, the mother of two beautiful kiddos, Trey 4 and Kirra 2. It took a little while for us to find a suitable date, and the rain made it even harder, but thankfully, the time arrived. It was a wonderful experience that I’m so happy to have had. Now, without further ado, I’d like to introduce you to this beautiful little family…

2,600 odd votes later and we have a winner for the complete portraiture experience with me! It was a close race to the end but number 20 came out on top. A big congratulations Shella – I will be in touch shortly.

I had such a great time during the whole competition process – far more fun than I could have imagined. It was so lovely to receive all the beautiful photos in my inbox (each and everyone made me smile a happy smile). And to read all the beautiful emails and comments on Facebook, during the whole process, was sincerely wonderful. So thank you.

To all those families that didn’t win a complete portraiture experience, I hope that one day, somewhere in the future, I get an opportunity to provide you with a portraiture experience you won’t forget.

And to those that finished in the top 5 (I will be in touch), I have an extra special surprise for you.

The Entrants Revealed Vote for your favourite {Brisbane Photographer}

I’d like to introduce you to all of the lovely entries in my competition to win a Complete Portraiture Experience. I received 50 beautiful entries (how about the even number!? Cool huh!). Check out the gorgeous children/families of all ages, and one absolutely beautiful baby bump below.

So – how to vote? Have a look through the galleries below, tick the box with the corresponding number (or if you know the surname, that will help too) on the poll, and then click on VOTE! It’s that simple.

However, you can only vote once. To be fair the system is designed to allow 1 vote only per IP address. Be sure to spread the word far and wide to ensure the contestant you chose has the best chance of winning! Some ideas to help spread the word include post the link to my blog into your Facebook Page directing people to vote, emailing the link to your friends and family or just give them a simple call to tell them all about it. Spring is in the air – soon! {Brisbane Children’s Photographer}

Can you believe it’s only two odd weeks until Spring has sprung? It’s my favourite time of year to photograph, especially in Queensland. The sun is shining; the light is beautiful; the birds are chirping and there is the smell of freshness in the air. The cooler weather is well and truly on the way out and I simply LOVE it!

You’ll also find it hard to believe it’s only 4 months until Christmas!! Crazy I know, but since many of my clients intend on having family portraits and pictures of the kids to use as Christmas presents, I thought I should remind you that Christmas is literally just around the corner. Please note that if you do require Christmas gift portraits, the session needs to take place between late September and (no later than) mid November. I’m going away for 2 weeks of much needed family time in November, which leaves only limited weekend availability for Christmas Family Portraits.

Looking at these pictures of Lily on this cold, wet and rainy day, reminds me of happy days…and it also puts me into a generous mood!! I thought a little special something was in order for those clients who book their session now. If you book your session by the end of August, and hold it in the months of September or October, you will receive 25 custom 5×5″ designer Christmas cards featuring pictures from your session (valued at $150). Day 8 {Brisbane Family Photographer}

So today was a long, long day (actually one I would rather forget). By the time I got home it was after 7:00pm . I walked in the door to Trevor telling me I had something on my bed. Hmmmm…I wondered what it could be. As soon as I walked into my room I knew what it was. I saw a massive (and I mean massive) parcel that really was competing in size with our king size bed. I figured it was the canvas I had ordered as a special studio sample. When I actually ordered the canvas, of course I knew it was going to be a 60″x40″ sized canvas, since that is what I ordered. However, I can honestly say, in hindsight those dimensions looked so much smaller in my head then they do in real life.

Seriously, it’s massive! But Oh how I love seeing my kids in a life size print! LOVE IT!

Now, all I have to do is find a spot to hang it.

(getting home after 7:00pm doesn’t really leave much time to capture a moment – crazy yuck light – so please excuse the mere snap)

Urban Mini Kids’ Sessions {Brisbane Children’s Photographer}

I love the outdoors and shooting out in the forest. This is especially so in spring and summer when everything is just so lovely and green and fresh…little girls in their beautiful summer dresses. Sigh. However, there is something to be said for beanies, jeans and cute little outfits in winter too. The perfect setting to compliment beautiful clothes, is the city. Around the city you will find so many pockets of goodness – there are colours and textures every where you turn. So, this time, I have decided the kids’ mini sessions will have an urban feel, just in time for winter.

In essence, for two days in May I will be offering limited sessions in the Brisbane city CBD for Kids’ Mini Sessions. You will be provided with a 20-30 minute shoot and 10-15 individually processed images in an online gallery (password protected) for your viewing. As part of the package I have included 3 digital negatives with accompanying 5×7” print. There is no obligation to purchase any other images but certainly the option is available and discount will be applied to upgrades.

These mini sessions are a great opportunity for parents and grand-parents to capture up to date images of their children without having to arrange a full session. Perfect for littlies who change so much in a 6-12 month period and for those that haven’t had updated portraits in a while. These mini sessions are designed for kids/teenagers – no families; maternity or babies under 4 months – so dad will be happy he doesn’t have to participate!

Special Kids’ Mini Sessions {Brisbane Children’s Photographer)

As some of you would know I’m having a baby in early July and as such will be going on maternity leave for a little while after bubs is born – I’m hoping to be back in action in early September. However, prior to going on maternity leave I thought I would offer a something special to new and past clients.

I often get enquiries about mini sessions (just a quick 20-30 minute session with 1 or 2 children), which is something I’ve not offered before – that is until now!

In essence, for two days in May I will be offering a total of 6 sessions (3 per date starting at 2.00pm) at Daisy Hill Forest (which is a lovely location for portraits) for Kids’ Mini Sessions.
