I arrived back from Melbourne early this week, exhausted! I think I’m getting far too old for endless late nights…early morning *late* nights, that is. So, now that I feel like I’m getting back into the swing I thought I would share my fantabulous news.
To preface, the purpose of my Melbourne visit was to attend the Australian Professional Photography Awards (APPAs). You might recall a few months back I entered the Queensland Awards and walked away with a Silver Award (the QLD awards are a precursor to the National Awards). I was completely wrapped to win a Silver Award at the state level, especially considering it was the first time I have ever entered anything like that. So, you could imagine my excitement at winning not one, but two Silver awards (out of three prints), in my very first try! Watching the judging and the amazing talent pool is awe inspiring. There are seriously some amazing photographers around Australia and I’m proud to call a whole heap of them friends.
The images below are the images that won me Silver Awards. The shot of the girl in the hat also won me the Silver in the Queensland competition.
