  • Welcome…

    Thanks for visiting! So a blog you ask? Yep. I'm a blogger from way back. I simply can't do without one so it goes without saying that I have to have one solely dedicated to my love of photography! Here's insight into the reason behind my love of photography in case you're wondering as people often do. Aside from an outlet for my creative juices I guess what I love most about photography is the moment it freezes in time. Literally, a moment captured that otherwise could never be relived. A moment in time...Forever frozen...

    A smirk. A smile. A frown. A tear. A kiss. A cuddle. Laughter. Life.

    Make sure you drop by from time to time. You'll see my latest news (including products and specials), some neat session previews, information about custom photography and it goes with out saying, you'll also see lots of photos of my children because, shucks, I just love them so much and can't help but snap them constantly!

    Before I go...always remember, don't-ever-forget the simple things and the memories they create.

Day 26 {Brisbane Photographer}

This photo a day challenge, is where I embark on the epic, personal journey to take one photograph every day for the month of January, of the things that are important to me.

Australia Day accompanied by torrential rain is not something I’m used to. That said, it did not dampen the spirit of our celebrations. BBQs with friends can happen in the rain, hail or shine. And so we celebrated. I celebrated with a wine or two. The kids celebrated with a swim or three. I think that’s where they spent a good deal of their afternoon. The pouring rain certainly did not seem to bother their celebratory will. Nor did it dampen mine.

Happy Australia Day!

Day 25 {Brisbane Children’s Photography}

A lot of rain equals feral children. It must be some unwritten law. Got to be. When it rains it pours, so what do I do? Send them out to play.

It was all fun and games until the poor duckie umbrella got broken (part negligence of Byron and Willow). Not a happy camper here. I wish kids’ umbrellas would last more than five minutes in my home. Sigh.

Day 24 {Brisbane Children’s Photographer}

This photo a day challenge, is where I embark on the epic, personal journey to take one photograph every day for the month of January, of the things that are important to me.

Truth. It’s been a long day. The light was fading. I had not yet captured a photo of the day.

Quickly kids…come outside and I’ll take a picture of your feet
Arrghhh mum, do we have to?” Byron protested in the whiniest voice ever.
Please. Only take a second. I just can’t be bothered taking anything else”. I pleaded. It happens some days. They obliged and removed themselves from the lounge…pausing the Simpons of course.
Oh! I’ll go make a sign for ‘our family feet’” says Lily.
Greeaaat!” says Byron maintaining his whinny stance. “We don’t need a sign!!!”.

It’s spitting rain. The kids are complaining because they have to stand next to each other. Close. Willow is doing her own thing as usual. The sign is melting. Byron is still complaining (here I was thinking I had a few more years before that). Click. Click. Click. Photo taken.

Some days it’s just too hard for anything else.
